Laval police investigate attempted armed robbery of cell phone store

Laval police (SPL) are searching for suspects in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a Rogers cell phone store in a strip mall Thursday evening.

Officers say they received a call around 5 p.m. about the robbery. Several employees and customers were in the store on des Laurentides Boulevard when one or several suspects came in, possibly armed, and tried to steal merchandise.

Police say the suspect or suspects fled before officers arrived on the scene.

No one was injured and there have yet to be any arrests.

The SPL’s major crimes division is interviewing witnesses to determine what happened. It’s unclear if the suspects managed to steal any merchandise or what weapons they carried.

Police are not releasing descriptions of the suspects at the time being. However, they ask any witnesses to dial 911 to speak with investigators.
