Here are the Montreal-area weekend road closures due to planned construction

Drivers in and around Montreal should prepare for delays as planned construction projects will result in closures.

Commuters are encouraged to plan their trips before leaving.

Honoré Mercier Bridge (R-138)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be opened in each direction on the bridge as the Kahnawake-bound span of the bridge will be closed.

Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (A-25)

Northbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 west in Longueuil and the access to Sherbrooke Street east in Montreal.

The following are default closures 30 minutes before:

• The Route-132 east and west access ramps (exits 89-N).
• Access from Île-Charron Street.

Southbound

• During the same period, the southbound lanes in the tunnel will be closed between Exit 5 (Sherbrooke Street) in Montreal and the access from Île Charron in Longueuil.

The following are default closures:

• Access from Sherbrooke, Tellier and Des Futailles streets.
• Souligny Avenue eastbound between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets.

Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136)

• On Saturday and Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., exit 7 (R-134 east, Papineau Avenue, Jacques Cartier Bridge, De Lorimier Avenue) will be closed.

Saint-Croix Avenue

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Sainte-Croix Avenue will be closed in both directions between Côte-de-Liesse West Road and Dion Street.

Côte-de-Liesse Road

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., three of four lanes on Côte-de-Liesse Road West will be closed between Houde Street and Sainte-Croix Avenue.

Highway 40 (Félix-Leclerc)

• From Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Saturday at 5 a.m. and from Sunday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., at the boundaries of Senneville and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, exit 41 (Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants) will be closed on Highway 40 eastbound (Félix-Leclerc Highway).
• Starting Monday at 5 a.m., access to Anciens-Combattants southbound will be closed on Highway 40 eastbound. This closure will end on Nov. 2.

Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136)

• Overnight on the weekend from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the highway will be closed in both directions between the Turcot Interchange and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard.

Saint-Antoine and Saint-Jacques streets

• At the end of exit 2 of the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) eastbound (Atwater Avenue), Saint-Jacques Street will be completely closed between Brewster and Walker Avenues, and Saint-Antoine Street will be one-way eastbound between Rose-de-Lima Street and Atwater Avenue until Oct. 20.

Highway 30/De L’Acier (Longueuil)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on Highway 30 in both directions, between Grande-Allée and R-112 (Cousineau Blvd.).

Harwood Boulevard (Vaudreuil-Dorion)

• From Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on Harwood Boulevard (A-20) between Ranger and Saint-Charles avenues.

Taschereau Boulevard (Longueuil)

• From Saturday at midnight. to Sunday at 7 a.m. and from Sunday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 4:30 a.m. two of three lanes will close on Taschereau Boulevard westbound (R-134 west), between the exit for the Longueuil / Université de Sherbrooke metro station and the access to the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

REM

• Service interruptions are scheduled on the weekend, resulting in it being completely closed on Oct. 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday).
• Shuttles will be available to provide transportation in the absence of the REM.
