4 suspects arrested after alleged arson, gunshots targeting West Island home

Montreal police have arrested four suspects after a series of violent crimes, including gunshots, targeting a home on Montreal’s West Island in the past several weeks.

The home is on Louis Riel Street, near Iberville Street, in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

On Monday night around midnight, multiple shots were fired at the residence before the suspects fled the scene.

On Dec. 15, 2024, some of the home’s windows were smashed, and on Dec. 1, a vehicle was set on fire in the driveway.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, which police believe were extortion attempts.

The four suspects, between the ages of 36 and 42, were arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court to face charges of extortion and uttering threats.

“The investigation is continuing in order to identify and arrest the individual or individuals who may have been directly involved in the criminal acts committed against this property,” police said Friday.
