Wiarton receives 343 cm of snow so far this winter

You don’t have to be a meteorologist to realize that it’s been a snowier than normal winter across midwestern Ontario.

Now there are numbers to back it up.

Environment Canada says there has been 343 cm of snow so far this winter recorded at Wiarton’s airport.

Last winter, Wiarton received 385 cm of snow.

With more than a month of winter of left, it’s almost certain this will be a snowier winter than last year, which was considered a “bad winter.”

Nearby Owen Sound has seen nearly 343 cm of snow compared to 404 cm during the entirety of last winter.

All that snow has led to a lot of snow days for Grey-Bruce students, who have now surpassed 15 snow days.
