‘We want to be the villains’: London Nationals face Game 7 in Stratford tonight

The London Nationals aren’t expecting a warm welcome tonight in game seven of their first round series at the William Allman Arena in Stratford.

“I think there was 900 people there the last time we played,” said Nationals defenceman Matthew Blake.

“We don’t want to make their fans happy, and we want to be the villains,” said Campeau, who has one goal and three assists in the series.

“We want to ruin their run, their playoffs. I think we can do it. We have faith and we’ve worked really hard.”

London has stormed back from a 3‑1 deficit in the series with a pair of wins to force the winner‑take‑all game.

Players believe the Nationals’ physical play is wearing down the Warriors.

“We’ve come out the last two games and played really hard,” said Blake.

“I think we were just taking it to them, and I think we can use that momentum to our advantage.”

A raucous environment is expected when the puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

“I think everyone has faith within our group,” added Campeau.

“We were down three‑to‑one, but nobody was hesitating. I think we come back and win it because they’re a bit shaky now that we’ve come back, and we don’t have a lot of pressure on ourselves.”
