Southern Ontario is in for fair weather through the midday and early afternoon, with increasing cloud cover expected by the evening, CTV News meteorologist Gary Archibald says. The daytime high is expected to reach 26 C, about one degree above the seasonal average of 25 C. The morning low was 18 C, about four degrees above seasonal. “Meanwhile, fair weather cloud for the most part overhead. However, there is a chance of some spotty showers moving in with increasing cloudiness as we head towards Thursday morning,” said Archibald. A ridge of high pressure is moving in behind a cold front that brought showers to parts of eastern Ontario early morning, now moving towards Quebec. Southern Ontario is not expected to receive significant rainfall over the next 24 hours. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 26 C around 4 p.m. before falling to about 21 C. The slight risk of showers or a light thunderstorm is expected to continue until about 10 p.m., with a low chance of light showers around midnight. Clearer conditions are expected Thursday afternoon and Friday.
