United Way launches annual campaign in London

London’s longest running lunch and launch campaign by the local United Way is back.

“It marks the official start of the United Way campaign season, so we are here at Citi Plaza, there’s about 1,000 people here enjoying lunch, and the best part is, with each ticket sold we buy a meal for someone in need in our community,” said United Way President Kelly Ziegner.

According to the United Way all donations stay local, with nearly 70 per cent of funding coming from community members.

“There’s good you can do in the world, we hear a lot of bad news these days, this is a really good news story about people who care about their local community,” said Ziegner.
