Two men chase property owner with weapons after being confronted during break and enter: London police

Two men are facing charges after allegedly breaking into a vacant property and then chasing the property owner after being confronted earlier this week.

According to a news release from the London Police Service, on Nov. 30 a man checking in on a vacant property in the area of Highbury Avenue North and Kilally Road discovered two men breaking into the residence.

When the man approached the suspects, police say one of the men brandished a hammer while the other man brandished a metal pipe and began to chase the property owner.

An officer driving in the area observed the suspects chasing the victim.

The officer arrested one of the suspects while the other suspect fled the area on foot.

Additional police were called to assist. However, officers did not locate the second suspect.

With assistance from the victim, the second suspect was located a short distance away and placed under arrest.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both of London, have been jointly charged with the following offences for their alleged involvement:

• Assault with a weapon
• Break, enter and theft

Additionally, the 41-year-old suspect has also been charged with one count of breach of probation.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in London court on Jan. 8, 2026, in relation to the charges.
