Sunny start to June, heat and humidity build this week

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison says sunshine and warm temperatures will dominate the week, with rising humidity by midweek.

June has arrived with sunshine and warm weather dominating the forecast.

“The upper atmosphere remains blocked up, and that means nothing moving in terms of active weather,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “We will continue with day-to-day sunshine but warming temperatures heading through the week.”

Today’s high of 25 degrees is the coolest it will feel this week. Temperatures and humidity levels start to rise come Wednesday.

“It’ll start to feel like the low 30s. You’ll notice the humidity creeping in Wednesday Thursday,” said Atchison.

The next chance for any rainfall will be on the weekend, although Atchison says the probability is a mere 40 per cent.

Tuesday: Sunny. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud near noon. Wind becoming north 20 km/h in the afternoon. High 25. UV index 8 or very high.

Tuesday night: A few clouds. Wind north 20 km/h becoming light in the evening. Low 9.

Wednesday: Sunny. High 27.

Thursday: Sunny. High 29.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 27.

Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 25.
