Strong winds and on‑and‑off flurries heading into the weekend

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the details on your weekend weather. Spoiler alert: winter isn't over yet.

People in the London region should brace for a chilly, windy, and unsettled weekend, dominated by cloud and frequent bursts of flurries rather than any sustained sunshine.

The grey, blustery stretch of weather will have persistent cloud cover, and falling temperatures.

“The temperature will drop and will transition to some light snowfall heading into Friday evening,” explained CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Temperatures this weekend will be on the milder side of what’s normal for this time of year before a drop as we head into early next week.”

She added flurries arrive Friday night, and the temperature will be falling overnight, going up again Saturday … then down again Sunday.

Friday: Overcast. Fog patches dissipating early this afternoon. Wind east 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming southwest 40 gusting to 70 early this afternoon. High plus 5 with temperature falling to plus 1 this afternoon.

Friday night: Cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries. Wind west 40 km/h gusting to 60 diminishing to 20 late this evening. Low zero.

Saturday: Cloudy. 40 percent chance of flurries changing to 40 percent chance of rain showers or flurries near noon. Wind southwest 30 km/h. High plus 3

Sunday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. High zero.

Monday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of flurries. Windy. High minus 2.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 3.
