Six suspects in custody following downtown London shooting

London police say 6 people have been arrested and charged following a shooting in the downtown core.

Six people have been arrested and charged by the London Police following a shooting on Aug. 22 in the downtown core.

After police requested the public’s help in identifying two vehicles related to the investigation, they arrested six people on Sept. 5 following a search of two residences and a vehicle.

Adib Khalaf, a 22-year-old male of London, faces a long list of charges, including discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, occupy motor vehicle with firearm and two counts of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The other five suspects, Tristan Essue, Joahan Jair Lopez Hernandez, Jewell Garnett-Dolson, John Rukeba and Latteral Blair, faced multiple charges by police, including possession of restricted or prohibited firearms knowingly not holding a license, along with unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Essue was out on bail and failed to comply with a release order, according to police.

Garnett Dolson faced an additional two counts of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, while Rukeba was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.

According to police, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 22 on Piccadilly Street. Evidence of gunshot-related damage was found, and there were no reported injuries.

Rukeba is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 17.
