SIU finds no criminal offence after investigating a crash in Ingersoll

The SIU concluded an investigation following a crash in Ingersoll, finding an OPP officer free of criminal offence.

The crash occurred on May 4, after an officer attempted to stop a speeding driver on Highway 401.

The driver fled, and the officer pulled over and stopped the pursuit.

Moments later, the driver was involved in a collision on Harris Street and Canterbury Road.

He was taken to hospital with a fractured right femur and several broken ribs. The officer was cleared of criminal offence in connection to the incident.
