Road closures and snow squall warnings for southwestern Ontario

Environment Canada says snow squalls continue to affect some parts of southwestern Ontario and several road closures are in place.

Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce counties are under a yellow snow squall warning.

According to Environment Canada, there is significantly reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow at times on Thursday and through Friday.

The forecaster said Thursday morning that the strongest snow squall is impacting the northern portions of Huron and Perth counties. This snow squall is expected to move northward later in the morning to impact primarily Grey and Bruce counties. Additional snow squall will be possible Thursday night and Friday.

Watches and warnings for London, Middlesex and Oxford counties have all come down.

Road closures

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, here are the roads that are closed and the ones that have been reopened, according to OPP.

Huron

• Zurich-Hensall Rd: Hwy 21 to Hwy 4

South Bruce

• Bruce Rd 7: Ripley to Hwy 9
• Hwy 21: Port Elgin to Amberley

Reopened:

• Hwy 4: Wingham to Teeswater
• Hwy 6: Bruce Road 9 to Tobermory
