Precautionary boil water advisory lifted in Huron County

A precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted after it was in effect for anybody on the Benmiller Drinking Water System.

According to the Township of Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh, the advisory was in effect because of a loss of pressure caused by a leak.

The township said it was required to issue the notice and it was in effect until two consecutive negative tests were received.

It’s advised to boil water at a rolling boil for at least one minute if you are using it to drink, gargle, brush your teeth, wash fruits of vegetables, make ice, juices or puddings or make baby food or formula.

Residents may also use bottled water instead of boiled water for the above-mentioned uses.
