Pedestrian dead after collision with train

A pedestrian has died after a collision with a train in Ingersoll.

Oxford emergency services were called to the collision on Mutual Street North in Ingersoll on Monday around 5:10 a.m.

OPP officers were seen alongside CNN Rail officials, investigating just east of Ingersoll Street North.

The rail line is reportedly heavily treed in the area. The train was cleared to move around 9:40 a.m.

More details surrounding the death are being held until next of kin are notified.

Mutual Street North between Carnegie Street and Wilson Street and Thames Street South between Carnegie Street and Oxford Lane were closed for a period of time, but have since reopened.
