A Middlesex County teenager is facing multiple fraud charges after allegedly wracking up thousands of dollars in charges after using stolen debit cards. According to a news release, on Jan. 13 at 9:42 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address on John Street, in Parkhill for the report of a fraud. The investigation revealed that the victim’s debit card had been fraudulently used by an unknown individual totaling nearly $1,000 in expenses. On Jan. 23 at 11:16 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address on Duke Street in Parkhill for the report of a fraud where a victim’s debit card had been fraudulently used by an unknown individual totaling nearly $2,000 in charges. As a result, members of the Middlesex County Integrated Fraud Awareness and Response Initiative were called in to assist with the investigations. As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old of Parkhill has been charged under the criminal code with: The youth cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London at a future date to speak to the charges.
