OPP are issuing a public safety alert after responding to two recent opiate overdoses in Oxford County. Both overdoses weren’t fatal, as naloxone was administered by officers. Police are warning anyone using unregulated drugs to use extreme caution, not use alone and have Narcan readily available. People suffering severe illness after using narcotics should call 911, go to a local emergency room or attend a walk-in clinic immediately. OPP say the Good Samaritan Act will protect anyone seeking emergency support during an overdose.
