One suspect charged in Huron County after drugs and weapon found in vehicle

Police have laid several charges after they found a vehicle with drugs and a weapon inside.

Early morning on Dec. 17, Huron OPP found two vehicles stuck in deep snow on South Street in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. One vehicle allegedly contained a crossbow, suspected illegal drugs and break-in instruments.

The driver was located nearby and arrested.

The 31-year-old suspect now charges of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, possession of break-in instruments and possession of schedule I substance – cocaine.

They’re expected to appear in court on Jan. 2.
