Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) officials say they’re dealing with a measles outbreak posing significant challenges. According to the health unit, cases are still rising, nearly reaching 700 since October in the Oxford-Elgin-St. Thomas region. That’s the highest case count in any jurisdiction in Ontario. In the last week, 63 cases were reported. The region’s chief medical officer said staff have been reaching out to large farms, trying to assess interest in on-site vaccination clinics to try and reduce spread.
