Inquest scheduled for man who died in EMDC custody

A provincial inquest will be held next week for a man who died in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre (EMDC).

Jamie Briggs, 44, was from Norwich. He died in November 2022.

The inquest will be held online starting June 10.

Inquests are mandatory under provincial law when a person dies in custody.
