St. Thomas police are advising the public of an increased police presence at the Dalewood Conservation Area Saturday afternoon as they search for a missing man. Ruhiwra Nzabonimpa, a 50-year-old man from St. Thomas, was reported missing on Nov. 18 and last seen in the area of Rice Road in St. Thomas at approximately 4:30 a.m. Since then, police have been searching for him. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Team is part of today’s search due to a body of water in the area. The public is asked to avoid the area while police are present. Anyone with information about Nzabonimpa’s whereabouts is asked to contact the St. Thomas police at 519-631-1224. He’s described as a Black male, lean, 5’10 and was last seen wearing work boots, dark pants, dark leather-like jacket, grey hoodie and a dark ball cap. Saturday’s search follows a search on Friday in the area of Dalewood Drive and Water Tower Line.
