Increased police presence at Dalewood Conservation Area after person in distress calls 911

Elgin County OPP are requesting the public’s help in identifying a person in distress who called 911 early Sunday morning but has not since been located.

According to a news release, at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Elgin County OPP responded to a report from the emergency medical services that they were unable to locate a person in distress.

Police say the person has called 911 from the Dalewood Conservation Area.

Emergency medical services attended and were unable to locate the individual. Police, with the assistance of the Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team have been searching for the individual.

Police are asking that the person who called for help or anyone who knows the identity of the caller to contact Elgin County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

There will an increased police presence in the area while police continue to search for the individual who called for help.
