Foot patrol officers on city busses: Partnership

London transit riders can expect to see foot patrol officers occasionally riding or walking city buses, following a partnership between the London Police and London Transit Commission.

The partnership aims to prevent crime and help community members become more confident while riding transit.

“By meeting people where they are, in everyday spaces like our transit system, we can build trust, strengthen relationships and reinforce that community safety is a shared responsibility,” said Chief Thai Truong.

By increasing police presence in the community, London Police says they hope the public will feel more confident approaching officers.

LTC General Manager Kelly Paleczny says this move will help promote safety on London Transit. “At LTC, the safety of our riders and employees is our top priority and this collaborative initiative will further strengthen our ongoing Travel Safe program.”
