Fireworks and parade highlight 106th Thamesford Calithumpian weekend

Sunday night fireworks and the annual Monday afternoon parade are the highlights of the annual Calithumpian weekend in Thamesford, Ont.

“We have lots of events that happen around the community and this is our 106th year for Calithumpian,” says Lisa Goodwin, president of the Calithumpian committee.

Sunday afternoon festivities included a kid’s funfair, chainsaw carving, a dunk tank and charity car wash.

“It’s really all about community, and everyone coming together,” says Goodwin.

Sunday night there are fireworks at dusk which organizers say are best viewed from North Park.

They have food trucks starting at 6 p.m.

Monday the annual parade will make its way through town starting at 1 p.m.
