Fanshawe College has released a list of 40 programs that are being suspended across all of its campuses. A statement from the school said, “Following a comprehensive review of enrolment trends, post-graduate work permit eligibility, labour market demand and financial viability [40]programs will be suspended effective fall 2025.” The statement went on to say, “No new students will be enrolled in these programs as of fall 2025 and all currently enrolled students will have the opportunity to complete their programs with the same quality of education and support they expected when they chose to study at Fanshawe.” It is not expected the suspended programs will be reinstated, with the school saying the suspensions have been endorsed by the Board of Governors and are final. The school recently held an open house amid talks of possible program cuts and layoffs. As previously reported by CTV News, the school faces a $35-million deficit this year and $60 million in 2026 because of the federal government’s cap on international students.
