Windsor police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman accused of stealing an item from a convenience store and assaulting an employee who tried to stop her. Officers were called to a business in the 900 block of Wyandotte Street East shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday after a panic alarm was activated, according to police. Police allege a woman entered the store, concealed an item in her backpack and attempted to leave without paying. When an employee confronted the suspect, a struggle broke out and continued outside the store. During the altercation, police say the suspect scratched the employee and bit her finger before fleeing the area with the stolen merchandise. The employee suffered minor injuries.
