‘Cold Arctic air floods in’: Cold spell ahead for the London region

More snow is on the way, as Wednesday kicks off with a 40 per cent chance of flurries.

Cloud cover will increase, and light snow is expected to arrive by afternoon in Midwestern Ontario. London will face an 80 per cent chance of snow at night.

Temperatures will drop overnight as a “very cold air mass” moves in, according to CTV London’s meteorologist Julie Atchison.

Wednesday will drop to minus 16 overnight, with a high of minus 7 on Thursday, as “the cold Arctic air floods in,” said Atchison.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has posted a yellow watch - snow squall for Huron County and parts of Grey and Bruce counties, with lake effect snow squalls expected off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay late this evening into Thursday.

Total snowfall could amount to anywhere between 15 and 30 cm.
