Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers seized approximately 385 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge border crossing earlier this month. The drugs were discovered Aug. 13 after a commercial truck entering Canada was referred for a secondary inspection at the Point Edward port of entry, the CBSA said in a release. During the examination, border services officers located and seized the suspected cocaine. The truck driver was arrested by the CBSA and the investigation was turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The RCMP has charged the individual with importing a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Police said the charges have not been proven in court.
