Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) has announced its long-standing Centre for Problem Gambling and Digital Dependency has officially been renamed to the Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling. HDGH officials say this new name reflects the program’s recognized role as a provincial leader in problem gambling treatment and highlights its broad reach in delivering evidence-based, specialized care to patients, clients, and families both locally and across Ontario. “Over the years, our specialized team has established a province-wide reputation for excellence in treating problem gambling. Renaming our program to the Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling accurately reflects our role as a trusted provincial leader while strengthening clarity for patients, families, and referring healthcare partners,” said Bill Marra, HDGH president and CEO. The Ontario Centre for Problem Gambling (OCPG) offers a full continuum of specialized services tailored to meet individual needs, including outpatient counselling and bed-based treatment services serving individuals from communities all across Ontario. The OCPG recently completed its 300th bed-based treatment cycle. Care and Referrals This transition is a name change only. HDGH officials say there are no disruptions or changes to patient and client care, available services, or program access. The referral process for both outpatient and bed-based treatment remains completely unchanged, and referring partners can continue using their existing referral workflows.
