‘Avoid travel’: OPP issue winter weather travel advisory in Grey-Bruce

Police in Grey and Bruce County are asking people to stay home today because of dangerous winter conditions.

Extreme winter weather, including high winds, blowing snow, whiteout conditions, and now frigidly cold temperatures, prompted the warning from police in Grey and Bruce County.

They say limiting travel Friday allows snowplow operators and emergency officials to try and keep roads, as clear as possible.

Despite all that, police are dealing with multiple road closures and hundreds of winter related collisions.

The current list of road closures across the region can be found at www.municipal511.ca, but the list in Bruce County is extensive as of 11 a.m.

OPP advise the following Bruce County roads are closed

• Grey Bruce Line From Scone to Hwy 21
