After their nomination for eight awards, AWE won four GOG (Galeries Ontario/Ontario Galleries) Exhibition Awards. The gallery was recognized during the 47th Annual GOG Awards Ceremony in Toronto on Dec. 1. AWE’s four awards Exhibition of the year budget under $10,000 Jordan Sook: The Closest I’ve Felt to God reflects the history of the Underground Railroad. The curator is Jennifer Matotek. First exhibition in a public art gallery Behnaz Fatemi: Rhythm of Remembering, shows what is left behind during displacement. The curators are Niku Koochak and Behnaz Fatemi Education award Sandwich Visionaries is an after-school drop-in program for children in Sandwich Town and West Windsor. The program’s educators are Marc Ngui, Julie Rae Tucker, Sophie Hinch and Nadja Pelkey.
