After a fatal school bus crash near London resulted in one death on Nov. 2, police say a second catastrophe was narrowly avoided when a driver drove through the collision scene. According to a video from police, an officer was almost struck after two drivers ignored road closures and one sped through the accident scene. “A driver made a shocking and dangerous move, racing through the closed scene at high speed, ignoring all warnings. They collided with police equipment, and they missed hitting an officer by mere inches. This wasn’t just reckless, this was extremely dangerous where an officer nearly lost their life,” said OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk in a video on social media. “And it didn’t stop there. Another motorist tried to force their way through, striking a barrier,” said Sanchuk. He says the OPP is continuing to investigate and urges anyone with video or information to contact police.
