Six year old killed in single vehicle crash in Sombra

Provincial police in Lambton County are investigating after a six year old was killed in single vehicle crash in St. Clair Township Tuesday evening.

Flowers and teddy bears marked the scene at the St. Clair Parkway and West Smith Line where an SUV reportedly went off the road and into a culvert.

Police say there were four people in the vehicle, including a six year old from Walpole Island First Nation, who was pronounced dead in hospital.

Three others suffered life-threatening injuries.

Sarnia resident Albert Angelski was working nearby when he heard the commotion.

“6:45 p.m. A lot of sirens. Siren activity was probably going on for, oh a good 15, 20 minutes. People do drive fast. A lot of people are trying to pass other vehicles from time to time,” he said.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
