Union leaders say almost two dozen frontline positions have been cut at the London Middlesex Children’s Aid Society. According to representatives for OPSEU Local 116, members received layoff notices late last week as the organization faces an almost $6 million deficit. In a statement, Children’s Aid officials say the changes will result in 23 job cuts. However, they’ll be able to hire for 17 new positions once this restructuring is complete.
