$19,000 in drugs seized, suspended driver charged: LPS

A suspended driver is facing multiple charges after police seized $19,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop.

On Tuesday just before 3 p.m., the London Police Service said a motorcycle with no visible plates was seen near Eaton Park Drive and Topping Lane.

The driver stopped at a nearby business, when a police officer approached the man and said the driver had a suspended license. The man was arrested.

A search of the suspect’s backpack took place, leading to the seizure of:

• $21,018.50 in Canadian cash
• 34.5 grams of suspected fentanyl
• 53.2 grams of suspected cocaine
• 46.7 grams of suspected oxycodone

The total estimated value of the seized drugs is $19,190.

The LPS said a plate was found on the motorcycle, but it was bent up into the back wheel well. It added the plate was previously reported missing.

A 45-year-old London man has been charged with:

• Operation while prohibited
• Four counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
• Three counts of failure to comply with a release order
• Confuse identity of plate
• Use plate not authorized for a vehicle
