Aylmer police say about $10,000 worth of copper wire was stolen from an Aylmer property Tuesday night. At approximately 9:30 p.m., two men were caught on video breaking into a secured substation on Elm Street. They entered a building on the property and then left in a sedan, leaving the door and gate unsecure. An hour later, a white van arrived at the location, and three men were observed on video loading supplies from the building into the van before leaving the area. The next morning, police were notified of the theft and say there were signs of forced entry on the property with $10,000 worth of copper missing. The investigation is ongoing, and police have obtained video evidence. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Aylmer Police Service at 519-773-3144.
