A Guelph man was arrested on Wednesday on an outstanding warrant. A suspicious person, outside of a closed business on Woodlawn Road West, was reported to Guelph Police around 11:30 p.m. When officers stopped the man he gave them a fake name. Another officer arrived on scene and recognized the man from past run-ins. They later learned the man was wanted for missing a court date. He had previously been charged with possessing stolen property, resisting arrest and escaping lawful custody. Police went to arrest the man and he resisted being handcuffed. As a result, the 33-year-old was also charged with obstructing police, resisting arrest and failing to attend court.
