Two charged after nearly $10K worth of cocaine seized from Guelph apartment

A Guelph man and woman are facing trafficking-related charges after police seized nearly $10,000 worth of cocaine from a Willow Road apartment Friday morning.

Guelph Police Service officers executed a search warrant at the residence after receiving information from another police service.

Police say two people were located inside a locked bedroom, where officers also found cocaine, several digital scales, nearly $2,000 in cash and a collapsible baton.

Investigators allege that prior to the search, an individual in another bedroom threw a quantity of cocaine and a cellphone out a window, landing near officers stationed outside.

A 37-year-old Guelph man and a 29-year-old Guelph woman are each charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The man is also charged with possession of proceeds of crime and three counts of breaching a release order.
