A stretch of road in Erin closed Tuesday morning following a fire and gas spill. Firefighters were called to Trafalgar Road, just north of Hillsburgh, for a transport truck that was engulfed in flames. In an email to CTV News, Erin’s fire chief said truck’s diesel tanks were damaged and, as a result, gas spilled onto the road. “Crews responded quickly and extinguished the fire,” said Fire Chief Ted Michael. “There were no injuries.” Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) told CTV News they had been called to the scene to help control traffic on Trafalgar Road between Erin Garafraxa Townline and Sideroad 27. Michael did not say what caused the fire.
