There has been another arrest in connection to Sunday’s home invasion-style robbery in Guelph. Guelph Police were called to a home near Watson Parkway North and Starwood Drive around 2 a.m. where the resident told officers multiple people came into his apartment, dragged him out of bed and sprayed him with bear spray. They then proceeded to take his wallet and a diamond ring. While the suspects claimed they had a gun, the victim never saw it during the robbery. Security cameras on the property showed three men driving up to the building in a black sedan and entering the home with a woman who was already on scene. Soon after, all four got back into the sedan and it sped away. A 35-year-old Guelph woman was arrested a few hours later for break-and-enter, robbery, assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance. On Tuesday, police spotted a 31-year-old man riding a scooter which had been stolen from a nearby business. Police also found four tightly-wrapped packages of cocaine and other controlled substances. The man was charged with two counts each of robbery and assault with a weapon, as well as break and enter, administering a noxious substance, mischief under $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property. Officers then conducted a search warrant on Wednesday morning at an unspecified location and arrested a 40-year-old man from Guelph. He was charged with break-and-enter, robbery, assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance. Police also confiscated a vehicle believed to have been used during the robbery.
