Jeep stolen from apartment parking lot in Guelph

Guelph Police are investigating after a resident reported that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment building overnight.

Police said it happened between 1:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on May 29.

The vehicle is a newer model black soft-top Jeep.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Police are encouraging residents to take steps to protect themselves from auto theft.

“This can include parking indoors when possible or in well-lit areas, ensuring vehicle doors and windows are closed and locked, employing anti-theft devices to prevent vehicles from being started or steered and using devices to block signals from electronic keys,” police said in a news release.

Suspicious activity around unattended vehicles, especially during overnight hours, should be reported to police.
