$30K in drugs and loaded gun seized in Guelph bust

A drug trafficking investigation in Guelph has ended with the arrest of seven people, including two teens.

Guelph Police said they began looking into a man who was believed to be trafficking drugs from an unnamed motel.

On Wednesday, around 10 p.m., officers searched two of the rooms at the motel.

Police said they seized “significant” quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine and cocaine, drug packaging materials and Canadian cash. They also found a loaded 9mm handgun with an over-capacity magazine.

Three men, between the ages of 18 and 41, were charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and weapons offences.

The same charges were laid against a 15-year-old and 17-year-old. Police said the 15-year-old was also charged with possessing stolen property after he was seen driving a stolen Honda CRV.

A 38-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were each charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

All of the accused were from Guelph.
