As people throughout the region celebrate Canada Day on Tuesday, some stores will be closed and some services are operating on reduced hours.

Here’s what is open and closed in the region:

Open

• Cooling spaces at 150 Main Street, Cambridge and 150 Frederick Street, Kitchener
• Curbside waste collection will continue as scheduled
• Grand River Transit will be operating on a holiday service schedule. MobilityPLUS service will run.
• GRT customer service locations at 35 Ainslie Street South., Cambridge and 105 King Street East, Kitchener.
• GO Transit will be operating on a Saturday schedule
• Region of Waterloo International Airport
• Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Schneider Haus National Historic Site and McDougall Cottage Historic Site
• Kiwanis, Harry Class, Idlewood, Wilson outdoor pools in Kitchener
• Ed Newland and George Hancock Pool in Cambridge 
• Moses Springer pool in Waterloo
• Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
• THEMUSEUM in Kitchener
• St. Jacob’s Farmers Market

Closed

• Most major grocery store chains, call ahead to make sure your local store is open or closed
• Most banks
• Conestoga Mall, Fairview Park Mall and Cambridge Centre
• All Region of Waterloo libraries and Cambridge Idea Exchange locations
• Canada Post offices
• Region of Waterloo public health clinics at 99 Regina South Street. in Waterloo, 20 Weber Street East in Kitchener, and 150 Main Street in Cambridge
• Waste Management transfer stations for drop-off in Cambridge and Waterloo
