The City of Kitchener says a stretch of King Street East will remain closed for a few more days following a watermain break. Crews were busy making repairs on the road between Frederick Street and Scott Street on Friday morning. According to an update from the city at 5 p.m., Kitchener Utilities needs more time to finish that work. King Street East is now expected to stay closed until Sunday. The city said anyone planning to head downtown for Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest should plan an alternate route to the festival this weekend.
