The Douglas Wright Engineering (DWE) building at the University of Waterloo remains closed following a sewer backup on Thursday night. The school cancelled classes because of the problem. Students were also advised to avoid all academic buildings on the main campus. While classes went ahead as scheduled on Friday morning, the Douglas Wright Engineering building remained closed. The university said classes at DWE were either cancelled, relocated or taking place remotely, at the direction of instructors.
