Two drivers were taken to hospital after a crash at the intersection of Fischer-Hallman Road and University Avenue West in Kitchener. The collision happened around 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday and closed a portion of the road for several hours. In an update on Tuesday afternoon, the Waterloo Regional Police Service said a 72-year-old Waterloo man who had been driving a Volvo was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old Kitchener man who had been driving a Ford also went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and police say charges are expected.
