Waterloo Regional Police are looking to identify suspects involved in two separate jewelry swap incidents in Kitchener on Friday. Police were informed of the first swap attempt near Oprington Drive and Benesfort Drive around 2:30 p.m. The victim told officers they were approached by a vehicle with three people inside. The occupants then tried to place jewelry on the victim but they declined. The three people then left the area before officers could arrive. After a second attempt, police were called to Margaret Avenue and Fairfield Avenue around 3:20 p.m. The victim involved told police they were approached by a vehicle with two people inside. The suspects placed jewelry on the victim while also successfully removing jewelry they had already been wearing. They left before officers arrived. No one was hurt in either incident. Police did not say if they believed the suspects were the same individuals in both attempts. Images of the possible vehicle or vehicles involved were provided by police, showing one or two light-coloured SUVs. They have asked anyone with information to call 519-570-9777.
