Anyone who recently bought a Sweet and Savory Mix from a store in Waterloo is being urged not to eat it. A recall warning has been issued for the product sold at Vincenzo’s on Caroline Street South due to Salmonella concerns. Health Canada told customers not to eat the mix if it has a best before date of Dec. 10. Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but it can still make people sick. Symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Those may worses in people with weakened immune systems, young children and pregnant women. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation. The recall was triggered by the company and there have been no reported illnesses so far.
