Paris Jewellers in Stratford robbed by trio carrying sledgehammers

Police in Stratford, Ont. are trying to identify three people who robbed a jewelry store.

The Stratford Police Service said they received numerous 911 calls about a robbery at Paris Jewellers in the Stratford Mall on Thursday around 4:45 p.m.

Police said three suspects with sledgehammers walked into the store, smashed display cases and ran off with an unknown amount of jewelry.

Everyone who was working at the store at the time was able to get out when the suspects arrived and no injuries were reported.

The suspects left the mall and climbed into a grey Honda Civic with tinted windows and black rims. The licence plate read BRTM868. It was last seen heading eastbound on Ontario Street. Police said the vehicle had been reported as stolen from somewhere in the Greater Toronto Area on Tuesday.

The suspects are described as between 5’5” and 5’7” with slim builds. Their faces and heads were covered with hoods and masks and they wore dark clothing.

Previous robberies

This was not the first time the store has been targeted.

On Jan. 3, 2024, two suspects were arrested in Niagara Falls after police seized $135,000 worth of jewelry they believed was taken from Paris Jewellers.

On Nov. 27, 2024, a man stole an unknown quantity of merchandise from the store.

On Feb. 5, 2025, three teens and a 27-year-old man were arrested for a smash-and-grab at the business.

Then, in June of this year, four suspects smashed display cases at the store and took off with an unknown amount of merchandise.
