Police say more than $113K worth of illegal drugs seized in Brantford investigation

The Brantford Police Service has announced a significant illegal drug seizure.

An investigation that began in January led to the arrest of three people in the Market Street and Sheridan Street area on Monday.

During the arrest 462.6 grams of fentanyl, 677 hydromorphone pills, 175.5 grams of methamphetamine, 36.8 grams of cocaine, a stun gun, a loaded handgun, a butterfly knife, a large quantity of cash and a vehicle were seized. Investigators believe the total street value of the drugs is approximately $113,700.

Police also searched two Brantford homes on Monday around 11:15 p.m.

A 38-year-old Brantford man was arrested for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition and possession of a firearm.

A 33-year-old Hamilton man was arrested for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, breach of probation and possession of proceeds of crime.

A 34-year-old woman from Hamilton was charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
